SpaceX achieves a new milestone by launching its 5,000th Starlink satellite into orbit on Saturday night.

The satellite was part of a batch of 22 Starlink satellites that were deployed by a Falcon 9 rocket from Cape Canaveral Space Force Station in Florida.

The Falcon 9 rocket’s first stage booster landed on a droneship in the Atlantic Ocean for recovery3. It was the booster’s third launch and landing.

Starlink is SpaceX’s ambitious project to provide high-speed broadband internet access to remote areas of the world using a constellation of low-earth orbit satellites.

SpaceX has been approved to deploy 12,000 Starlink satellites and has requested clearance for an additional 30,000.

The launch was SpaceX’s second of the day, following the successful launch and docking of the Crew-7 mission to the International Space Station earlier on Saturday.

The Crew-7 mission carried four astronauts who will spend six months on the space station, conducting various scientific experiments and demonstrations.
